Remember the old days of hospital portraits? I do, and it truly breaks my heart that this tradition is no longer offered. Every Family Deserves a Beautiful Keepsake Portrait. As Milford’s One and Only top Newborn Photographer, I am dedicated to providing free in-hospital portrait sessions to Moms and Babies at Milford Hospital. There is a package to suit every families needs.
How much is it?
The hospital session is FREE and will last approximately 15min - 1/2hr. Simply choose the package that fits your needs after your online gallery is delivered. Travel fees will apply to any hospital other than Milford Regional. A deposit of $25 will ensure your session and will be deducted from your chosen package.
How do I Book?
Bookings are taken directly through Shannon Leigh Photography. Please reach out as soon as possible during your pregnancy to book your due date in the baby calendar. As these dates can be unpredictable unless a C-Section is scheduled, I need to ensure I will be in the immediate area during this time.Sessions in your hospital room will take place within the first two-three days of birth. Some circumstances may differ on a case to case basis.. Please notify the staff and nurse that you have me booked to provide photos for you and baby and contact me as soon as you deliver so I can let you know what time I will be there and get your room number. A consent form must be signed in room before the session starts allowing me to enter your room and capture these photos for you.
How can I prepare for the shoot?
I love to include mom and dad's hands in our photos. Wear clear or neutral nail polish on the day of your shoot. Distracting jewelry should be removed; your baby should be the focus of the photos. Bring a dark-colored shirt to wear in the photos; I may photograph your baby in your arms and solid/dark colors look great in both color and black-and-white prints. If you prefer to be in some of the photos you are more than welcome to have hair and makeup done as well, however, this is a personal choice and not mandatory.
Should we bring a special blanket or items for baby?
I absolutely encourage you to bring a favorite baby blanket or afghan from home to use in the shoot. A beautiful blanket can add texture, color and memories to your newborn's photos. Any momentous such as name signs, dob signs, and lovies are encouraged as well.
What types of packages do you offer?
Packages range from digital images to single prints and portrait packages. Please reach out for a full list of packages and pricing. This is for everyone.
I like all of those cute baby props and posing. Do you do that in the hospital?
I will come armed with special wraps, hats and headbands but hospital portraits will not contain props and formal posing, they will be organic lifestyle as to remember the first real days of birth in the hospital. Please feel free to have a special outfit, name sign, props, and special memorabilia to include into your session. Some moms will also have hair and makeup done on a personal level. Portraits will include baby, and parents & immediate siblings if wanted. A studio session with props and posing can still be scheduled within the first two weeks of birth for a special discounted rate.
Hospital Cancellation Policy
Due to the sensitive nature of these sessions, although rare, there are many uncontrollable situations where a session may need to be cancelled. Shannon Leigh Photography reserves the right to cancel a hospital session at any time to due illness for the safety of your newborn and or any uncontrollable serious obligation where a session cannot be performed. The client will be notified as soon as possible. A cancellation due to this nature will be refunded and or can be applied to a future studio session. All other cancellations made on the clients behalf are non refundable but can be transferred to a future session.
